Updated Astros Playoff Scenarios With Two Games to Play

The Astros' playoff hopes are getting a little bit clearer but there is still work left to do.

One thing is simple - if the Astros win one of their final two games vs Arizona, they are in the postseason.

The most likely result there would have the Astros travelling to Minneapolis to play the Twins in a Wild Card series.

However, if the Astros sweep this series, and the Mariners win at least one of their final two games vs the Rangers, the Astros would win the AL West, get a bye this week, and get ready for the ALDS next weekend.

If the Astros lose their final two games, and the Mariners win one more game, the Astros would miss the postseason.

If the Astros win one of their final two games, and the Mariners sweep the Rangers, the Mariners would win the AL West, the Astros would be the Wild Card, and the Rangers would miss the postseason.

Obviously there is a lot at play here. Listen to all the action tonight on NewsRadio 740 KTRH, and we will simulcast the game on SportsTalk790 following the Texas-Kansas football game on 790.
