Astros Bats Come Alive in 9-1 ALDS Game 3 Victory at Twins

The Astros put up four runs in the first, thanks to a three-run homer from Jose Abreu, as the Houston Astros got after Sonny Gray, and picked up a 9-1 win over the Minnesota Twins in ALDS Game 3. Houston is now one win away from advancing to yet another ALCS.

Alex Bregman added a homerun in the 5th, while Yordan Alvarez hit his fourth homerun of this postseason in the 9th, as Jose Abreu hit his second homerun of the day in the 9th, and the Astros bats routed the Twins.

“This was one of the reasons why I signed with this organization, to be in the best situation and compete, said Abreu, who hit a career-low .237 in his Astros debut season, nearly 50 points below his career mark.

Game 4 is at Target Field on Wednesday. If Minnesota forces a Game 5, it would be in Houston on Friday.
