Your Houston Rockets are looking to get in the win column on this young season, after road losses to Orlando and San Antonio to begin the season 0-2, they will play host to the Golden State Warriors on Sunday evening for their first home game at Toyota Center.

The Rockets are looking to snap a 10-game losing streak to the Warriors, which is their longest in the all-time series. Second year player Jabari Smith Jr. averaged 14.5 ppg and 8.5 rpg against the Warriors in 2022-23, while Warriors guard Klay Thompson scored 40+ points in two of his three games played vs. Houston last season.

The Warriors will also bring some familiar faces back into Houston with former Rockets Chris Paul and Usman Garuba.

For the Rockets, they will be without Tari Eason, Jock Landale and Victor Oladipo.

Steph Curry who was listed as probable, will indeed play, while Draymond Green will make his season debut for Golden State. Coach Steve Kerr said Green will be on a minutes restriction.

 Tonight is the Rockets home opener and the first of seven straight games at Toyota Center through Game #9 of the season on 11/12.

 Houston had 30 assists at San Antonio on 10/27 after being held to 19 in the season opener at Orlando.

Alperen Sengun is averaging 19.5 ppg, 11.0 rpg and 6.5 apg this season. Fred VanVleet had 24 points and 12 assists at San Antonio on 10/27.

Tonight’s First Shot presented by Credit Karma will be taken by Houston Astros pitcher Ryan Pressly… he will attempt to make a free throw to earn $5,000 for the Rockets Clutch City Foundation… if Pressly misses the shot, owner Tilman J. Fertitta and the Rockets will still donate $1,000 as part of the team’s commitment to give back to the community.
