Fred VanVleet scored a season-high 26 points, while Alperen Sengun scored 23 points, and former Nugget Jeff Green erupted for 15 points off the bench as the Houston Rockets won their sixth game in a row, beating the defending champion Denver Nuggets 107-104 on Sunday night at Toyota Center. Dillon Brooks also scored 10 points.
Jalen Green scored 9 points with eight rebounds, while Tari Eason and Jabari Smith each added 8 points. The Rockets shot 42% from the field, but defended well, holding the Nuggets to just 28% from three-point land.
The Rockets improved to 6-3 on the season and have won six games in a row. Next up, they head out on the road, playing in Los Angeles taking on the Clippers on Friday night, before facing the Lakers next Sunday.
