Framber Valdez Placed on 15-Day IL, Astros Recall Mushinski & Suero

The Houston Astros have placed starting pitcher Framber Valdez on the 15-day IL with elbow soreness.

In sending Valdez to the IL, they have recalled Parker Mushinski from Sugar Land, and will join the team in Kansas City. Pitchers optioned to the minors must stay down 15 days before being recalled, with the exception of a player going on the IL, so the Astros are able to recall Mushinski just days after sending him down.

In addition, in sending down pitcher Blair Henley, the Astros called up Wander Suero from Sugar Land.
