The Houston Cougars secured a win on Homecoming with a 43-yard field goal as time expired to take down the Utah Utes 17-14 on Saturday.
Quarterback Zeon Chriss was 6 of 13 for 61 yards passing with two touchdowns and 45 yards rushing.
The Cougars found success in the running game, rushing for 228 yards. "You never know what your path to victory is going to be," head coach Willie Fritz said.
Fritz, who joined "The Matt Thomas Show with Ross," discussed the win, which was his 250th head coaching victory, but was eager to switch the focus to the Cougars' next opponent, the No. 17 Kansas State Wildcats. "We've moved on... we got another big one coming up."
