Source: Ex-Texans TE Kahale Warring joins Patriots

The New England Patriots were awarded former Texans tight end Kahale Warring off waivers, according to a league source not authorized to speak publicly.

A former third-round draft pick, Warring is a physically gifted athlete at 6-foot-5, 256 with 4.6 speed in the 40-yard dash.

He wasn't productive since being picked out of San Diego State. He has three career receptions for 35 yards on seven targets.

Warring only played four snaps Saturday night against the Dallas Cowboys.

Warring, 24, spent his rookie season on injured reserve two years ago and part of last season on injured reserve, too.
