Baylor linebacker Terrel Bernard visited Texans

Baylor all-conference linebacker Terrel Bernard visited the Texans this week.

Bernard, an All-Big 12 selection from LaPorte, is a 6-foot-1, 222-pounder who was named Most Valuable Player in the Sugar Bowl.

He recorded 20 tackles and two sacks.

He had nine tackles and two sacks against Oklahoma and was named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week.

He finished fifth in the conference with 106 tackles.

Bernard was a second-team All-Big 12 selection as a junior. He led the team in tackles, sacks and tackles for losses before suffering a season-ending shoulder injury injury.

As a sophomore, he was second-team All-Big 12 and had 112 tackles, 4 1/2 sacks and one interception.

A former all-state selection who had 201 tackles, five sacks and four forced fumbles as a senior, he had 47 tackles and one interception as a redshirt freshman.
