Source: Texans' trade for Adam Shaheen voided with failed physical

The Texans' trade for veteran tight end Adam Shaheen from the Miami Dolphins has been voided due to a failed physical, according to a league source.

The Texans had acquired Shaheen in addition to a 2023 seventh-round draft pick in exchange for a 2023 sixth-round draft pick, but that deal is no longer valid and he reverts back to the Dolphins.

Shaheen is a former Chicago Bears second-round draft pick from Ashland.

He's in the final year of his contract and is due $1.65 million.

The Texans need depth at tight end with Antony Auclair sidelined with a sprained knee.

Rookie tight end Teagan Quitoriano has missed some practices with a knee issue that sidelined him at the start of training camp, but is healthy now. <BR>

Shaheen has 50 career receptions for 509 yards and seven touchdowns.

He caught 12 passes for 127 yards and three touchdowns.
