Astros Hit Four Homers in 8-3 Win Over Mariners

Marwin Gonzalez hit two of Houston’s four home runs in the rubber match Wednesday afternoon to take the series from the Seattle Mariners.

The Astros put up 15 hits for the second consecutive game as every starter recorded a hit. Gonzalez hit a solo shot in the second inning followed by a two-run homer from Jake Marisnick in the same inning. In the fourth, Gonzalez added another solo home run for his second of the game. Max Stassi delivered a three-run shot in the fifth, adding to a four run inning, pushing the lead to 8-2. Seattle would get another run in the sixth but that was it from the Mariners offense.

Dallas Keuchel improved to (9-9) on the season with another quality start on the mound. Keuchel’s final line: 7.0 IP, 8 H, 3 ER, 1 BB and 2 K. He is 5-1 with a 2.04 ERA in his last six starts.

The Astros travel to Los Angeles to take on the Dodgers, starting Friday night. Justin Verlander will get the nod with the first pitch slated for 9:10PM CT.
