Astros Defeated by Seattle, 5-2

A three run eighth inning for the Seattle Mariners was the difference in the game as the Astros fell, 5-2.

Gerrit Cole tossed 93 pitches in 7 1/3 IP but couldn't find a way out of the eighth inning surrendering two of his four earned runs. Ryan Pressly replaced Cole and allowed an earned run which made it 5-2 in favor of the Mariners.

Offensively, Marwin Gonzalez continued to hit well going 3-4 as Tony Kemp and Alex Bregman each had an RBI. The Astros had a total of nine hits but couldn't string together enough to manufacture more runs.

After making a highlight reel catch to save multiple runs and then hitting a double, Jake Marisnick exited the game with what is being described as "left groin discomfort". Marisnick adds to a growing list of injury woes of late for the club.

Charlie Morton (12-2, 2.81 ERA) takes the mound Saturday night against Seattle looking to get the Astros back on the winning track.
