Houston Cougar Football Blows Out Tulane

The Houston Cougars rolled to a 48-17 victory Thursday night over Tulane. With the win, UH improved their American Athletic Conference record to 5-2 and sit atop the west division with SMU in second at 4-2. SMU will battle Memphis tonight.

Patrick Carr rushed for 139 yards and two touchdowns in the game. The rushing mark is a new career high for Carr. Quarterback D’Eriq King had 164 yards of total offense and two TDs. King left the game late in the second quarter and did not return to action. King suffered the injury on a non-contact handoff with a minute left in the first half. Coach Applewhite said after the game, “We have to wait and see what the doctors say.” Freshman Clayton Tune replaced King and threw two touchdown passes in the second half.

The Cougars will travel and play Memphis Friday, November 23rd.
