James Harden scored a season high 54 points with 13 assists against the Washington Wizards Monday night but the Rockets fell in overtime, 135-131. Harden passed Russell Westbrook for the most 50-point, 10-assist games with his fifth.
Eric Gordon started in place of Chris Paul and scored 36 points with Clint Capela adding a double-double of 17 points and 14 rebounds.
In the loss, the Houston bench combined for only nine points as the team shot 47.4% from the field.
The Rockets will return home to host the Dallas Mavericks Wednesday night from the Toyota Center with tip-off scheduled for 7:00pm.
