Harden’s 58 Not Enough as Rockets Lose to Nets

James Harden scored a season-high 58 points against the Brooklyn Nets Wednesday night but it wasn’t enough as Houston fell in OT, 145-142.

With a 1:09 left in regulation, the Rockets let go of an eight point lead and then with 1:28 left in OT, they squandered a seven point lead. The Nets used a 10-0 run in the final 1:12 of OT to secure the win over the Rockets.

The team shot an NBA record 70 three pointers but managed to only sink 23. Harden has scored at least 30 points in 18 straight games. In nine out of the last 12 games, Harden has scored 40 or more.

Eric Gordon returned to action after being out with a bruised right knee and scored 20 points but left the game early with right knee soreness. PJ Tucker had 20 points and Gerald Green manufactured 15 points off the bench.

Houston will host the Lakers Saturday night at 7:30pm.
