James Harden Joins Elite Company

James Harden scored 37 points in a 121-93 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers Monday night to join Wilt Chamberlain as the only players in NBA history to score at least 30 points in 20 straight games.

Harden said about the accomplishment, “Just to be in the same conversation as those guys is just credit to the work I put in. That’s what you play this game for, to be listed with those guys, those top players.” In the last four games, he has scored exactly 200 points, averaging 50 points a game. Yes, you read that right. 50 points a game.

The Rockets as a whole struggled against Philly. From three point range, Houston shot a dismal 26% and only 36% from the field. Besides Harden’s 37, the other four starters combined for only 14 points. Gerald Green came off the bench to continue his consistent scoring with 18 points. Freshly signed Kenneth Faried played 23 minutes and scored 13 points.

Houston will continue their road trip Wednesday as they will play the New York Knicks at 6:30pm CT.
