Cole and Miley Toss Scoreless Innings Against Marlins

The Houston Astros continued their Grapefruit League play Tuesday afternoon with a game against the Miami Marlins. Houston gave up three runs in the 7th inning and fell to the Marlins, 3-0.

Gerrit Cole got the nod on the mound for Houston and cruised through an inning of work. Cole went three up, three down, needing only eight pitches for an efficient outing. Cole's final line: 1.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 0 K.

Wade Miley threw two scoreless innings, tossing 20 strikes out of 36 total pitches. Miley forced three groundball outs, utlizing his cutter while surrendering one walk. Miley's final line: 2.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 0 K.

Offensively, the Astros had five hits with Jake Marisnick going 1-2 and with Myles Straw going 1-4.

Houston moves to 2-2-1 in Grapefruit League play and will take on the Washington Nationals Wednesday afternoon at 12:05pm CT. Collin McHugh is scheduled to pitch.
