The University of Houston Cougars routed Georgia State in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament Friday night, 84-55.
Corey Davis led the Coogs in scoring with 26 points. Fabian White recorded a double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds. Breaon Brady also helped out in the win with 13 points.
UH outscored Georgia State 44-24 in the second half and outrebounded the Panthers 51-27.
The Cougars shot 52% from the field to advance to round two where they will meet Ohio State Sunday night at 7:40pm CT.
Corey Davis Jr. will be the key for UH. The senior is averaging 21.1 points over the last ten games another big game will be in order to take down the Buckeyes.
