A Big Easy Win as Rockets Beat Pelicans 113-90

The Houston Rockets took on the Pelicans Sunday night in New Orleans and handed the home team a loss, 113-90.

James Harden only played 29 minutes in the win but scored 28 points to lead Houston in scoring. Chris Paul had a double-double of 10 points and 13 assists while Eric Gordon added 18 points. Clint Capela was a monster on the boards, collecting 17 rebounds while scoring eight points. The Rockets knocked down seven triples in the first quarter on their way to making 21 in the game.

Kenneth Faried had a double-double off the bench scoring 11 points with 11 rebounds. Danuel House Jr. also came off the bench to score 14 points in 30 minutes of action.

Houston shot 49% from the field and 43% from three-point land to improve to 47-27 on the season. Houston also clinched a playoff spot with the win. They currently hold the third spot in the Western Conference, a game ahead of Portland.

Next up is a big showdown in Milwaukee against the Bucks as Giannis Antetokounmpo is challenging Harden in the MVP conversation this season. Tip-off is scheduled for Tuesday night at 7:00pm CT.
