Umpire Vic Carapazza relied on his third base umpire who called a swinging strike on Cardinals' third baseman Matt Carpenter, after a checked swing. Matt Carpenter disagreed with the call and made his frustrations with third base umpire Jordan Baker known by yelling "You Suck". Carapazza ejected Carpenter from the game. Although replay showed the officials got the call right, the baseball gods decided to punish Vic Carapazza for the ejection.
