Brad Peacock pitched another solid outing Monday night as the Astros beat the White Sox, 3-0. Peacock earned his 5th win of the season after throwing five innings of two hit baseball while striking out nine. The win started a 10 game home stand for Houston.
Chris Devenski, Will Harris, Ryan Pressly and Roberto Osuna combined to not give up a run in four innings. Pressly extended his scoreless inning streak to 39 consecutive innings while Osuna earned his 12th save of the year. Osuna also tied Brad Lidge for the most consecutive saves in franchise history at 24.
Jake Marisnick and Tyler White both hit solo home runs while Carlos Correa hit a sac-fly in the first inning to get the Astros on the board first. Michael Brantley went 2-4 for his 23rd multi-hit game of the season. Tony Kemp also had two hits in the win.
The series against Chicago will continue Tuesday night as Justin Verlander takes the mound for Houston. First pitch is scheduled for 7:10pm.
