Fisher's Late Home Run Propels Astros Over A's in Comeback Win

The Astros began a west coast road series Friday night by taking on the Oakland A's. Houston rallied to beat Oakland, 3-2.

Trailing 2-0 the majority of the game, the Astros were able to tie it in the top of the 7th. Josh Reddick hit a solo home run to cut into the lead which lead to a game tying RBI double by Tony Kemp. Kemp knocked in the speedy Myles Straw who pinch ran for Tyler White. Straw was able to score from first after White was walked. Derek Fisher hit a solo bomb to deep left center field in the top of the 8th to put the Astros ahead 3-2. Roberto Osuna came on to close it out in the 9th, recording his 16th save of the season.

Brad Peacock allowed only two runs in six innings of work. Peacock struck out three and walked three while giving up six hits. Hector Rondon got the win on the mound in one inning of one hit ball.

Justin Verlander takes the mound in game two of the series looking for his 9th win of the season. First pitch is scheduled for 9:07pm CT, Saturday night.
