Another game, another Yordan Alvarez home run as the Astros took down the Blue Jays, 7-2. With the homer Saturday afternoon, Alvarez has now hit four in his first five games as a big leaguer.
Along with the big fly, Alvarez had two other hits for a 3-4 day with an RBI and one run scored. He's now 8-17 with eight RBI, eight runs and been walked six times in five games played. Jack Mayfield was also 3-4 on the day with three doubles and an RBI. Myles Straw had two hits and two RBI. Houston manufactured 12 hits for the second game in a row.
Framber Valdez pitched well for the second consecutive outing for his third win of the season. Valdez went six innings while giving up two earned runs on four hits. He struck out eight and walked two. Chris Devenski and Josh James combined for three innings pitched, two hits and no runs.
The Astros will go for the sweep of Toronto Sunday afternoon. Brad Peacock has won four out of his last five starts and will start on the mound. First pitch is scheduled for 1:10pm.
