The Houston Astros fell to the Cincinnati Reds Tuesday night, 4-3. The loss is the second straight in as many nights.
Justin Verlander received his third loss of the season in the second game of the road series against the Reds. Verlander tossed gave up six hits in seven innings. He walked one, struck out eight and surrendered four earned runs.
Alex Bregman hit his 20th homer of the season with two RBI. Michael Brantley had three hits on the night with Yuli Gurriel and Tyler White each recording two hits. The Astros had nine hits on the night but stranded 10 runners.
Gerrit Cole takes the mound for Houston in game three of the series Wednesday afternoon. Jose Altuve is expected to return to the lineup after a lengthy stint on the IL. First pitch is scheduled for 11:35am CT.
