Yuli Gurriel tied an Astros record by recording eight RBIs in Wednesday afternoon's blowout win over the Rockies. Houston beat Colorado 14-3 with Gurriel tying J.R. Towles for most RBI in a game. Towles set the mark in 2007 against the St. Louis Cardinals.
Gurriel was 2-4 with a home run, double and a sac-fly that provided the eight RBIs. He's hitting .298 with a slugging percentage of .539. Yordan Alvarez was 3-4 on the day along with Alex Bregman and Michael Brantley who both had two hits each. Bregman had three RBI and Brantley had one.
Gerrit Cole won his 10th straight decision and hasn't lost since May 22. Cole threw six innings, giving up two runs on three hits and striking out 10. He leads the MLB with 226 strikeouts and has the longest win streak of his career.
The Astros will have Thursday off to travel to Baltimore where they will begin a 10 game road trip against the Orioles. Wade Miley will start Friday night in game one of the series. First pitch is scheduled for 6:05pm CT.
