Springer's Go Ahead Homer in Extras Seals Win For Astros

George Springer hit a go-ahead solo home run in the top of the 10th inning Monday afternoon to lift the Astros over the Brewers, 3-2. Houston has now won 12 of their last 15 games.

Gerrit Cole started for the Astros, following Justin Verlander's no-hitter a day before. Cole struck out 14 in just six innings, tying his season high. He gave up one run on a solo homer while walking two. Cole was in line for the win but Roberto Osuna gave up a tying home run in the bottom of the 9th which sent the game to extra innings.

Alex Bregman continued his hot streak, going 4-5 with an RBI. Bregman increased his averag to .295 on the season. Yordan Alvarez hit his 22nd homer of the year which ties the franchise rookie record. Carlos Correa set the record in 2015.

Zack Greinke will start on the mound for the Astros Tuesday evening in the series finale against the Brewers. First pitch is scheduled for 6:40pm CT.
