Rays Outfielder Brett Phillips Had Some Fun On The Mound

Brett Phillips. Baseball outfielder. Tampa Bay Rays pitching legend. Let's set the scene real quick.

Rays are down to the Blue Jays 10-1. When a team is getting boat raced this badly and the game is lost, it means we're about to see a....Position. Player. Pitching.

Honestly, I love this. Position players pitching is just nothing but fun baseball for the fans. And, hopefully the guy pitching too.

Anyway, back to the game. So the Rays decided to put in a position player to pitch. That player ended up being outfielder Brett Phillips. So naturally, Phillips went to warm up in the bullpen.

What form. What execution. Hall of Fame talent right here. However, just because you warm up in the bullpen doesn't mean you're fully ready to be on the mound.

It's okay, it happens to the best of us Brett. Just keep your head up and give it your all.

There ya go Brett! Switch up the speeds! Keep them guessing! Unfortunately, he did let in a run so that will go against his career ERA. But hey, you tried Brett. You had fun and made us laugh while doing it. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go perfect my eephus pitch using the form of pitching legend Brett Phillips.
