Wow. This field. This game. This sport. All of it was absolutely stunning. It could and, maybe did, bring a literal tear to your eye. Lets break it down real quick.
First, the field itself.
The field is perfect. There isn't a single change that needs to be made to it. It's gorgeous and if you didn't fall in love with this field immediately, then you hate baseball.
Secondly, the view with the sunset and the night sky.
My Lord in heaven, hang this picture in the Louvre.
Next, the broadcast itself.
The broadcast was precise, perfect and you could tell that FOX put in as much effort as they could and I have to give them major props for it. Well done.
Batting 4th, the game itself.
Watching the ball fly over the fence and into the corn, I don't know how to describe it. Beautiful is one word. But, I think magical is a better word to use. Just a sight to see. And, speaking of something being magical....
Last but not least, the ending of the game.
This one requires a little set up. Fast forward to the top of the 9th. Yankees down by 3. White Sox All Star Closer Liam Hendriks is on the mound. Aaron Judge at the plate with a man on first.
Okay, okay. Yankees down by one now. Hendriks can still save this game. But now, here comes Giancarlo Stanton with another man on first.
Just like that, the Yankees have the lead. We move on to the bottom of the 9th. Yankees Closer Zach Britton is on the mound. The White Sox are now down by one. Man on first. Tim Anderson at the plate.
Oh. My. God. What a finish to this game! Incredible! And this final camera shot as Anderson rounds the bases, shows just how incredible it was.
What a beautiful game. What a beautiful shot. What a beautiful moment. This game was everything we had hoped for. It was everything MLB could have dreamed of. This game, America's Pastime, on the Field of Dreams in the middle of a cornfield in Iowa, it could make a grown man cry.
This game, it was perfect in every sense of the word.
