This Sunday, the Tennessee Titans will be hosting "Oiler Week" where they will honor former Oilers head coach Bum Phillips, adding him to the Ring of Honor at Nissan Stadium.
The team will celebrate their "Oilers heritage" throughout the week, paying tribute to great Oiler players. Only problem is - almost all the people they honor never played in Nashville, they playing in Houston - for the Houston Oilers.
The Titans release said that the following former Oilers are expected to attend the game: Dan Pastorini, Billy "White Shoes" Johnson, Robert Brazile, Elvin Bethea, Curley Culp, Warren Moon, Kenny Houston and Tony Banfield.
All of this just feels so very odd, and I get it's technically the same franchise, but celebrating greats from another city that have nothing to do with your city is awkward.
