Texans' Justin Reid wins Houston Sports Awards' sportsmanship award

Texans safety Justin Reid is being honored at the fifth annual Houston Sports Awards with their 2022 Sportsmanship Award.Reid is one of the most active Texans players in the community and a nominee for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year.

He supports Candlelighters' childhood cancer family alliance, Kids Meals Houston and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Houston.Previous sportsmanship winners include J.J. Watt, Whitney Mercilus and Carlos Correa.The annual Hall of Fame class included Clyde Drexler, Sheryl Swoopes, and Roger Clemens, and Lifetime Achievement recipient Bill Worrell.The Houston Sports Awards will be held Feb 3, 2022 at the Wortham Center.

The nominees for Professional Athlete of the Year are Simone Biles, Carlos Correa, Kyle Tucker, Yuli Gurriel with College Athlete of the Year nominees Quentin Grimes, DeJon Jarreau, Marcus Jones and Nicole Mendes, Coach of the Year Tom Arrington, Dusty Baker, Dana Holgorsen and Kelvin Sampson
