MOBILE, Ala. -- The Tennessee Titans hired former Texans defensive line coach Bobby King as their inside linebackers coach, according to league sources not authorized to speak publicly.
King is the replacement for Jim Haslett and reunites with former Texans linebacker Zach Cunningham and coach Mike Vrabel, a former Texans defensive coordinator.
King was hired in 2017 as the Texans' linebackers coach working under Vrabel, whom he is close with.
Shifted to defensive line coach last season, King coached defensive end Jon Greenard as he recorded a career-high eight sacks.
King has also been a defensive assistant for the Dallas Cowboys, Chargers and the Titans.
The Titans run a 3-4 defense, which King has operated in the past and he was part of a 4-3 alignment last season with Lovie Smith.
“It hasn’t been that huge of a transition,” King said last year. “Working with coach Smith has been unbelievable. The system has been great to learn. It’s helping me and I’m learning every day from him. It’s been outstanding.”
