Sources: Ex-Texans WRs coach Robert Prince joining Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys are hiring former Texans wide receivers coach Robert Prince for the same position with their franchise, according to league sources not authorized to speak publicly.

Prince has previously coached for the Detroit Lions, Atlanta Falcons, Jacksonville Jaguars and Seattle Seahawks.

A former passing game coordinator at Colorado and offensive coordinator at Boise State, Prince coached Texans wide receiver Brandin Cooks last season.

The former New Orleans Saints first-round draft pick eclipsed the 1,000-yard receiving mark for the sixth time in eight NFL seasons, making him the third player in franchise history to record consecutive 1,000-yard receiving seasons and one of eight active NFL players with at least six 1,000-yard receiving seasons.

Now, Prince will coach CeeDee Lamb, Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup.

Cowboys offensive coordinator Kellen Moore has worked previously with Prince at Boise State.

The team finished 12-1 in Moore's senior year and was ranked eighth nationally.
