Ohio State tight end Jeremy Ruckert visits Texans

Ohio State tight end Jeremy Ruckert visited the Texans, according to a league source.

Ruckert caught 26 passes for 309 yards and three touchdowns last season and was an honorable-mention All-Big Ten Conference selection for the Buckeyes.

As a junior he caught 13 passes for 151 yards and five touchdowns.

He had 14 catches for 142 yards and four touchdowns as a sophomore.

Ruckert (6-foot-5 1/2, 251) pounds is coming off a foot injury and hasn't run the 40-yard dash or done other drills in draft testing. He bench pressed 225 pounds 22 times at the Buckeyes' Pro Day workout after doing 19 reps at the NFL scouting combine.

He's a former New York Gatorade Player of the Year and a prep All-American who had 13 sacks on defense and 13 touchdowns on offense as a high school senior.

Ruckert is regarded as a good combo tight end prospect who catches well, runs fast enough to create separation and is a willing, tough blocker.
