The Astros are one of baseball's best teams and have an opportunity to separate themselves from the rest with the upcoming trade deadline. Over at ESPN.com (subscription required), Jeff Passan has a story up today with some of the names on the market and what he is hearing. Passan reports that Josh Bell of the Nationals could be the first bat to go and that the Astros is in on him. He calls the Astros "extremely aggressive" on the trade market so that would leave you to believe that moves are almost certainly coming.
The other name that the Astros are linked to in his article is Wilson Contreras of the Cubs. Now the Astros would not be acquiring him to play catcher, Passan writes that teams are concerned with his catching ability and they would play him at a different position, presumably first base.
To me the Contreras move does not make a lot of sense for me. The Josh Bell fit makes all the sense in the world and they would be smart to get out and grab him before anyone else does.
