No Matter Tuesday's Result, Cy Young Race Is Verlander's To Lose

Good morning from Chicago's Midway Airport, where I am killing time before I can drop my stuff off at my hotel. I am in Chicago for the remainder of this four game series against the White Sox, where tonight we have a doozy of a pitching matchup between the top two guys in the AL Cy Young race.

No matter the result tonight however, this race will still be Justin Verlander's to lose. Dylan Cease is the young new kid on the block, on a team that is not nearly as good as the Astros. Voters absolutely want to vote for Verlander given his amazing story of this historic comeback from Tommy John Surgery at the age of 39. Cease has been great this season, but Verlander has just been better. I expect more of the same tonight, the story in this one will be can the Astros get him enough runs to add on to his league leading fifteen wins.

Join me at six this evening on SportsTalk 790 for the Astros On Deck Show, live from Guaranteed Rate Field, I will have a couple of guest join me along the way. And keep an eye on both my Twitter (@MC790) and Instagram (@mc790) for more content from Chicago today and the next two days.
