The Astros have been operating for a few weeks now without a general manager, as Jim Crane has run point on most of the baseball moves over the last few months. One of the things that has been written about is Jeff Bagwell's influence with the club and Jim Crane acknowledged today that Bagwell was part of the negotiations with José Abreu.
Jeff Bagwell also spoke with the media after the press conference and made it clear, contrary to reports that have been out there, that he is not interested in being the general manager.
