UH head coach Dana Holgorsen spoke with the media on Monday ahead of their Week 1 opener vs UTSA.
"Nobody thinks we're any good. Let's line up and see," Holgorsen said. "We're underdogs at home. Can't wait."
UH is a one-point underdog at homer vs the Roadrunners according to several sportsbooks.
Holgorsen enters his fifth season with the Cougars and has led the program to a combined 20 victories and back-to-back bowl wins during 2021-22. Houston is one of five programs nationally with 20+ wins and 2+ bowl wins in that timespan.
The 2023 season will be Holgorsen's 17th coaching in the Big 12 Conference across four league schools. In his 16 seasons, Holgorsen has helped West Virginia, Oklahoma State and Texas Tech to a combined 84 league wins, including an 18-9 conference record during his final three seasons as head coach at West Virginia.
