The Houston Texans reportedly made a push for free agent running back Saquon Barkley, but ultimately he will end up signing with the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles lost their starting running back D'Andre Swift earlier in the day as he signed with the Chicago Bears. Barkley will reportedly get a 3-year deal for $37.7 million, with a max up to $46.75. That gives him an average-per-year salary of $15.833M, which would be the second highest for a running back in NFL History.
The Texans still have RB Dameon Pierce on their roster, but their leading rusher last season Devin Singletary is currently a free agent.
