We've seen the last of Luis Garcia's signature delivery. MLB informed the Astros that Garcia's "rock the baby" pitching windup is no longer legal under the new pitch timer rules.
The new rule states that a pitcher must have a clear point to begin his delivery in order to stop the pitch timer. Garcia's arm motions and multiple steps don't allow that.
With pitchers and catchers reporting to Spring Training today, we'll soon see what Garcia's new windup and delivery look like.
