Will Verlander Be Ready for Astros Opening Day? Espada Isn't Ruling Him Out

Will Justin Verlander be ready to start on Opening Day for the Houston Astros? As we are exactly one month away from the Astros beginning the season at Minute Maid Park vs the New York Yankees, Manager Joe Espada said he's not ruling him out, but said that Verlander is not yet ready to face live hitters just yet.

Espada did say that Verlander felt good after throwing a bullpen session yesterday. But he did also say "we're kind of running out of days here."

If Verlander is not ready to go on Opening Day, one would assume the Astros could turn to Framber Valdez, who started Opening Day last season when Verlander depearted for the Mets. Tune in to SportsTalk790 for all your Astros coverage and play by play action.
