Jason Bristol, sports anchor and reporter at KHOU, joins Next Up to recap the Houston Astros season and preview the Texans Week 5 matchup against the Buffalo Bills.
The Astros' streak of seven consecutive ALCS appearances was broken following Wednesday's 5-2 loss to the Detroit Tigers in Game 2 of the AL Wild Card Series, which eliminated them from the playoffs.
However, when reviewing the season and taking into account the amount of obstacles the Astros had to overcome to clinch the AL West, it is impressive the Astros made it as far as they did. Dana Brown and his staff "won most of those little battles" and were able to "work around the margins" to field a postseason-worthy lineup, Bristol said.
The Texans will look to earn back-to-back victories with a win over the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. Quarterback Josh Allen is coming off a 35-10 loss to the Baltimore Ravens but is still playing MVP-level football.
With injuries on the offensive line and in the running back core, the Texans defense will be challenged with holding off Allen and the Bills. For the Texans to win, "the pass rush gets to Josh Allen."
