While the Astros continue to have discussions with free agent third baseman Alex Bregman, MLB reporter Jon Morosi floated out a rumor that Houston is potentially interested in Willy Adames, possibly at third base, if they are unable to bring back Bregman.
Adames has played a ton of shortstop, spending the first four years of his career in Tampa, before playing the past four seasons in Milwaukee. He batted .251 last season with 32 homeruns and 112 RBI. His homerun and RBI totals were both career highs for the right-handed hitter.
