Rockets to Debut New City Edition Uniforms and Court on Wednesday Night

HOUSTON – As part of Hometown Heroes Night on Wednesday, Nov. 20 vs. Indiana, the Rockets will debut their 2024-25 City Edition uniforms and court while celebrating the 30th anniversary season of their back-to-back championship teams which inspired the designs.

The first 3,000 fans entering Toyota Center will receive an exclusive Rudy Tomjanovich bobblehead, presented by Toyota. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. with tipoff at 7 p.m. Tickets are still available at Rockets.com.

As part of a season-long appreciation of Tomjanovich and the championship teams from 1993-94 and 1994-95, the Rockets have 13 players from those rosters planning to attend the game: Tim Breaux, Chucky Brown, Matt Bullard, Pete Chilcutt, Mario Elie, Carl Herrera, Robert Horry, Vernon Maxwell, Hakeem Olajuwon, Eric Riley, Larry Robinson, Kenny Smith and Otis Thorpe.

The group will be honored on-court during two timeouts in the first half and the Rockets award-winning game presentation crew has prepared videos to share moments from the championship seasons throughout the game. The Rockets will also present tribute videos for two members of their family who passed earlier this year, former assistant coach and general manager Carroll Dawson and legendary radio broadcaster Gene Peterson.

On Wednesday morning at 11 a.m., the Rockets Team at Toyota Center will offer the first chance to purchase items from The Summit Collection, a special apparel line which invokes memories from the championship era blended with fresh, innovative designs.  Vernon Maxwell will make an appearance at the store at 4 p.m. Fans will also have the opportunity to purchase City Edition themed merchandise, which is already available at RocketsShop.com. The Summit Collection will launch online Saturday night.

Wednesday night is the first of 13 games the Rockets are scheduled to wear their City Edition uniforms this season. The uniforms, and accompanying court, were designed to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the back-to-back championship teams.

The jerseys are white adorned with ‘H-TOWN’ on the front in red lettering with a black outline, mimicking the style of the championship banners hanging from the rafters at Toyota Center. The motto for the second championship team, ‘BELIEVE IT AGAIN!’, appears in the bottom corner of the jersey along with signatures from Clyde Drexler and Olajuwon.

The shorts mix the past with the present and have the original Houston Rockets logo on one side with the Summit logo on the buckle portion. The trim on the shorts is an homage to the appearance of the championship banners.

The City Edition court features a recreation of the iconic center logo from the Summit and displays the ‘H-TOWN’ from the jerseys to the side of the key on both ends.
