After returning to the mound in Houston for his first start back at home in three seasons, Lance McCullers Jr wasn't his best. He gave up seven runs while getting just one out in the Astros' 13-9 loss to the Reds.
But after the game, Manager Joe Espada and McCullers revealed the pitcher received death threats directed at his children following the rough outing.
“I understand people are very passionate and people love the Astros and love sports, but threatening to find my kids and murder them is a little bit tough to deal with,” he said.
The team announced that the Houston Police Department and MLB security had been alerted to the threats.
