Rockets analyst and editor of The Rockets Wire Ben DuBose joins Next Up to discuss the Houston Rockets elimination from the in-season tournament following their 115-121 loss to the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday.
The Rockets have lost their last four away games. "They've been competitive in all of them," but "what the Rockets don't have is a perimeter-based scorer and playmaker that can consistently make tough buckets late in a game," DuBose said.
Other issues that contributed to another road loss was center Alperen Şengün's fatigue late in the game. "Hopefully as the years progress, he keeps getting in better shape and is able to give you in the final five minutes what he gives you in the first 30," DuBose said. DuBose concludes that even though "the defense is there," the Rockets are still in need of offensive improvements.
