Texans Roundtable, Caserio Trades 1st Round Pick, Mixon Contract Extension

Stan Norfleet of Next Up is joined in-studio by former Texans defensive tackle Amobi Okoye and Houston Chronicle writer Jonathan Alexander to create a Texans roundtable. Stan, Amobi and Jonathan breakdown the first week of NFL free agency and grade Texans general manager Nick Caserio's transactions and signings.

Defensive end Danielle Hunter and running back Joe Mixon addressed the media Thursday as the duo was officially introduced as Texans. The Cincinnati Bengals traded Mixon to the Texans for a seventh-round draft pick. The Texans have now signed Mixon to a three-year, $27 million extension. The Texans signed Hunter to a two-year, $49 million contract. Hunter wore #99 during his career with the Vikings, but Hunter said he's "not going to mess with" J.J. Watt's #99 jersey.

After the Texans traded defensive tackle Maliek Collins to the San Francisco 49ers and Arik Armstead signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Texans signed veteran Tim Settle Jr. to a two-year, $7 million deal.

Stan, Amobi and Jonathan also react to the Texans trading their first-round and seventh-round pick to the Minnesota Vikings for their second-round and sixth-round picks this year and their second-round pick in 2025. Houston's original first-round pick belongs to the Arizona Cardinals after the Texans traded it during last year's draft to get Will Anderson Jr.
