Ben DuBose, editor of The Rockets Wire, joins Next Up following Rockets Media Day to discuss possible contract extensions for Alperen Şengün and Jalen Green.
Şengün had a breakout year last season, finishing third in Most Improved Player voting and averaging 21.1 points, 9.3 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game in 61 appearances.
While it was previously reported that the Rockets were not likely to extend Şengün and Green prior to the beginning of the season, there is now a "realistic chance" for the Rockets to make an agreement with Şengün ahead of the October 21 deadline.
DuBose also comments on how the newest players on the roster, such as Steven Adams and rookie Reed Sheppard, will make an impact as the Rockets look to return to the playoffs.
