Justin Verlander dominated on the mound Sunday afternoon to lead the Astros to a 9-3 win over the Tigers in Detroit.
Verlander tossed seven strong innings while surrendering just two hits. He struck out eight and did not give up a run.
The offense pounded out 18 hits in the win with Kyle Tucker hitting his league leading 13th home run. Mauricio Dubon had four hits, Jake Meyers had three and four other Astros players had two.
The Astros return to Minute Maid Park this evening to open up a 10 game home stand, starting with the Oakland A's. First pitch is slated for 7:10pm with the On-Deck Show starting at 6pm.
