What Should Be Done With The Astrodome Area?

Looking to make the future a bit brighter here in Houston, just recently the Astrodome Conservancy released new plans for the old Astrodome area and what they may consist of doing with the area. Aiming to turn the area into a multi-use community following the possible addition of multiple businesses and venues to be placed in and around the district, many are excited about the "Vision Astrodome" and what it may bring to the city of Houston. The project pushes into the billion dollar price range as the Astrodome Conservancy urges citizens to sign a petition to show support for the plan although, some believe the historic landmark should be used for other use in the community instead. Many believe the area should turn into a Casino & Resort area while some think it's taking up space and should be tore down. With nothing stamped and for certain just yet on what the area may become, is it possible the Astrodome may be torn down in the months to come?
