The Astros Run New York, Plain And Simple

What's up New York? How ya doing? How does it feel being a part of the greatest city in the world? Good, right?

Well, let me ask you this.

How does it feel to know that your baseball teams are not as good as you thought?

How does it feel knowing that you're going to have to go through Houston again?

How does it feel knowing that your own media is saying that it's time to stop booing Altuve?

As Stephen A. Smith put it once, "We don't care."

So quick recap, the Astros just finished a tough stretch of nine games against both the New York Mets and the New York Yankees. Nine straight games against the best team in the American League and the best team in the National League. How did the Astros fare in that stretch? They finished the series with a record of 7-2. SEVEN AND TWO.

It came from everywhere too.

The pitching staff was absolutely lights out. The bats woke up. The defense was spectacular (aside from Yordan and Peña colliding). The bullpen was huge. Yes, the bullpen blew two games late against the Yankees but hey, can't be perfect every time. It's not a rivalry if little brother doesn't win every now and then.

Yes, I called New York "little brother". You have to at this point. It's deserved. The Mets are doing their annual choking and the Yankees cannot get over that Astros hump.

You don't even have to watch the games to know this. The New York fans are in absolute shambles.

That's just the tip of the ice berg. If you want something even more crazy, check out this stat.

It's as simple as this. The Astros run New York. The only difference this time around is that some New York fans are finally realizing that the Astros are a great team and booing them isn't working. I say some because, clearly, not all of them got the memo.

Some fans will just always be dumb. They need to smarten up. Sooner or later they'll come to their senses and realize that, whether you root for the Yankees or the Mets, the road to October runs through Houston, Texas. And, there's not a damn thing you can do about it.

Strap in and buckle up, it's going to be a bumpy ride.
