Alex Bregman Falls Short in Round 1 of HR Derby

posted by Brian LaLima -

A valiant effort by Alex Bregman fell just shy of a first round win in the 2018 Home Run Derby. His opponent Kyle Schwarber of the Chicago Cubs, survived to defeat Bregman, 16-15.

With Javier Bracamonte throwing to him, Bregman's final swing struck the wall in left field to come up short of a 16-16 tie. Bracamonte throws batting practice, catches bullpens and hits infield practice for the Astros.

Even in the loss, Bregman battled back and put on a fun show to represent the Houston Astros well.

Tune in tomorow night as Justin Verlander, Gerrit Cole, Charlie Morton, Jose Altuve, George Springer and Bregman will be playing in the All-Star Game.
